Greig Dean has owned the Port Ohope General Store and surrounding land for over 23 years. He even had is own windsurfing business down here at Ohope Beach 24 years ago, thus meaning he knows the Harbour inside out!
Ashlee Dean is a 22 year old blonde business women, set to make her mark on Ohope Beach. The Port Ohope General Store and Cafe is a collaboration between Ashlee Dean and Greig Deans passions, coffee, food, fresh produce, water sports such as Stand Up Paddle Boarding and even bicycles.
It’s a real family affair down here at the Port Ohope General Store and Cafe, with Greig and Ashlee Dean comes Nana (Margaret), Mum (Terri), Cousins, Second Cousins and high school friends from Auckland (Sian Simpson).
Ashlee and Greig this summer hope to bring some life and youth back to the Ohope Atmosphere, where young people want to come and set up life down on the beach. Ohope is an amazing and beautiful place, it is known to many as the Sunshine capital of New Zealand as the sun is forever shining and the skies are always blue.
We have so much to offer! From a all day cafe menu, fresh juice bar, ice cream bar where you can get both frozen yoghurt and fresh fruit ice cream, takeaways, fish and chips, grocer, fruit and vegetables, groceries, bicycles, Stand up Paddle boards, fishing tackle, ice and bait. There’s so much to choose from you’ll be here for hours!
The Port Ohope General Store and Cafe is situated on the east end of Ohope Beach close to the Ohope top 10 holiday park.
Come hang out on our enormous deck, get yourself a bucket of mussels and a fresh cold beer and enjoy the views of water from an vantage point, you’ll have the ocean on one side and the Harbour on the other! Bliss.
